| Senator Deb Fischer Short Biography A lifelong Nebraskan, Deb Fischer is the senior senator from Nebraska. In November 2012, Fischer was first elected to the U.S. Senate becoming the first Nebraska woman elected to a full term. Before her election to the U.S. Senate, Fischer served in the Nebraska Unicameral, representing the 43rd Legislative District since 2004. Born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, Senator Fischer attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and graduated with a degree in education. She and her husband, Bruce, have been married for over 40 years and own a ranching business near Valentine. They have three sons and four grandchildren. | Senator Pete Ricketts Short Biography Ricketts was born on August 19, 1964, in Nebraska City, Nebraska. He earned a bachelor's degree in biology and an MBA in marketing and finance from the University of Chicago. He returned to his hometown of Omaha to work for his father's company, which later became known as Ameritrade. He held the following positions throughout his career: senior vice president of strategy and business development, senior vice president of marketing, and chief operating officer. Ricketts also founded Drakon LLC, an organization that sought to support local entrepreneurs and startup companies. Ricketts, along with three of his siblings, purchased the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field in 2009. |

| Representative Mike Flood Short Biography Raised in Norfolk, Mike started working in radio in high school, a passion that continued throughout his time in college at Notre Dame and law school at the University of Nebraska. In 2005, Mike was elected to represent his hometown and surrounding Madison County in the Nebraska Legislature. In 2007, his colleagues elected him the youngest Speaker of the Legislature in Nebraska history. Mike earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and received his law degree from the University of Nebraska. He is currently a partner at Norfolk's oldest law firm, Jewell, Collins & Flood. He and his wife of 18 years, Mandi, were married at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Norfolk. | Representative Don Bacon Short Biography He [Don Bacon] moved from the family farm to attend Northern Illinois University, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Political Science in 1984, the same year he married Angie, the love of his life. They have three sons, one daughter, and six grandchildren. Upon his retirement from the Air Force in 2014, Congressman Bacon served as the military advisor to Congressman Jeff Fortenberry, where he specialized in military affairs focusing on Offutt Air Force Base and the Nebraska National Guard. He also was an Assistant Professor at Bellevue University where he taught Undergraduate Leadership along with American Vision and Values (The Kirkpatrick Signature Series), until his 2016 election to Congress, representing Nebraska’s Second Congressional District. |
